Pop

Empezó en el siglo XX en Inglaterra, en la década de los 60.

La expresión "música pop" no era entendida como un género musical con características musicales concretas. Lo catalogado como música "Pop" de “música popular”, era entendida como lo contrario a la música de culto, a la música clásica.
El pop era ése gran grupo de música para la gente de escasa cultura musical. Con el tiempo, el pop ha ido ganándose como género musical independiente, librándose, además, del sentido negativo al que se le vinculaba.
Sus grandes diferencias con otros géneros musicales están en las voces melódicas y claras en primer plano y percusiones lineales y repetidas.

*Pop Comercial: Éste tipo es el que más compite y obtiene mejores ganancias. Algunos ejemplos de cantantes son, Michael Jackon, Britney Spears, Celine Dion...

*Pop independiente: A principios de 1980 hubo una revolución llamada Pop Independiente, donde surgieron bandas independientes como U2. En los años 90s y los 2000 aparecieron bandas como Coldplay.

Hoy en dia, el género pop es el más seguido, el más escuchado, el que mueve más dinero... Como bien dice su nombre, el más POPular.
